It´s been 100 years now of car making up in Cowley, Oxford.  The Bullnose Oxford was made the first and since then it has  churned  out over 11,000,000!  Many driving instructors have tuition vehicles these days from the Mini site (sadly not owned by the British anymore, BMW  smartly  snapped that one up) and if you can believe it they pop out 900 a day!  Who´s buying all these cars?

A TEAM of gym members has broken two world records for the amount of people squeezed into both a classic Mini and a current shape version.

MINI has released details of an updated Countryman for 2013, including models that comply with Euro 6 emissions regulations that come into force in 2014.

Models designed to the new specifications will start being built in November. The engine choice of four petrols and three diesels remains largely the same, with power outputs between 89bhp and 215bhp, but the One Countryman and the Cooper Countryman will boast ultra-low particulate emissions.

MINI will make an entry-level model that's smaller, cheaper and more efficient than any since BMW took over the brand.

The new city car concept will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2011. It will be based on the current MINI hatchback, but shortened and possibly with only two seats.

Little is known about the concept at present, though MINI sources have confirmed its existence. An intelligent three-seat layout like that of Gordon Murray's T.25 city car could get the go-ahea...

You may remember that MINI sent out a cheeky invite to Porsche, challenging the sports car maker to a race to establish who has the quicker car (read the original story here). Well Porsche politely declined, but MINI went ahead and organised a race anyway on its own terms.

Porsche has snubbed MINI's challenge of a race between a 911 and a Cooper S.

MINI's USA boss, Jim McDowell, sensationally challenged his Porsche counterpart Detlev Von Platen to a Cooper S versus 911 race at the Road Atlanta track in Georgia, US.

MINI even booked the venue for a showdown on July 21 and paid for a full-page advert to publicise the event in the New York Times.
