An Australian man is lucky to be alive after a driver crashed into his bedroom during the night. Demitrios Bisbelis had a close escape, as he had left his bed only 20 minutes prior to the incident to use his computer in another room. The bed itself was described by Mr. Bisbelis as 'disintegrated'. Emergency services believe that the accident happened because the car hit a piece of road furniture and became airborne. It then crashed through a fence and the wall of Mr. Bisbelis' house in Melbourn... Continue reading ...
Extreme £1.3 million Pagani Zonda hits the UK
Posted by Will Dracott on Saturday, October 30, 2010,
Italian hypercar specialist, Pagani, will pull the wraps off its £1.3 million Zonda Cinque at the MPH Show on November 4. This will be the first appearance of the car in the UK. It's one of only five in existence and is the final model to leave Pagani's factory. Power comes from a monstrous 678bhp Mercedes-Benz AMG V12 engine, which makes the car capable of 0-62mph in only 3.4 seconds. Top speed is quoted as 217mph. Changes over and above the standard Zonda (which is extreme enough as it is) in... Continue reading ...
Why people fail their driving tests
The driving test can be one of the most worrying things a person can do, because passing will have a life-changing effect. The majority of people fail for the same sort of reasons, and fortunately they're not impossible to overcome. So we asked Alan Esam, an instructor to AA Driving School instructors, what the top five reasons people fail their test are, and how best to conquer them. Here's what he had to say. Lack of proper preparation "Some are tempted to rush into the test, only to be knocke... Continue reading ...

There are few cars as iconic as the 1964 Aston Martin DB5 driven by James Bond, which partly explains why it raised an incredible £2.6 million in an auction held in London yesterday (October 27) by RM Auctions. In fact, when the 12 percent buyer's premium is added, the total figure amounts to £2,912,000. An American business man, Harry Yeaggy, is the proud new owner of the Aston Martin. In fact, he's only the second owner - Bond aside. The car was sold at auction for Jerry Lee, an American ra... Continue reading ...

A mother who left her car was horrified to find it had been clamped while her children were sitting inside. Victoria

Wireless charging for electric cars

Boffins have created a wireless charging mat that can charge-up electric cars without the need for any wires or plugs. The
mat works in a similar way to smaller versions currently on the market
for iPods and smart phones, although no contact is required between the
car and the mat. It means that whenever an electric car like the
Nissan Leaf (pictured) is parked over the mat - e.g. placed on the floor
of a garage - it will begin to charge the battery. The mat is being developed by Delphi... Continue reading ...
Airbag for cyclists created

A team of Swedish industrial design students have
developed an airbag for cyclists. Known as the Hvvding, the device is an
airbag collar that activates in the event of an impact and surrounds
the head and neck of the cyclist. Hvvding roughly translates as 'chieftain' in English and was designed over six years. A
small helium gas cylinder makes the collar inflate in 0.1 seconds and
it remains in that state for several seconds after the initial impact.

10 things to know about the world's first car

UK average currently at 118p per litre, and up to 121p in London, we're

Toyota's luxury arm, Lexus, today announced (October 21,

after Toyota's international recall earlier this year. The first
Lexus recall is due to a faulty brake master cylinder on IS, GS and RX
models built between February 2003 and November 2005. Should the
fault occur, the driver will be notified by a low brake fluid warning

the car will also tell you how long you'll have to wait before it
